SWOOP
Privacy Policy
Pond Swoop only collects what it needs to run the game and the Weekly Comp. We don't sell your information or show ads.
Translations are provided for convenience. If they differ, the English version of this policy applies.
What we collect
- If you just play: nothing leaves your device. Your medals, unlocks, language and settings are saved on your device only.
- If you buy the full game: Apple, Google or Stripe handles the payment. We never see your card details. When you create a comp account, we check the purchase and save its transaction ID (or your game key) so each purchase has only one account. If you buy on our website, Stripe gives us your email address so we can send your game key.
- If you create a comp account: your email address, the username you pick, the continent you pick, your language, and your tries in the Weekly Comp and World Cup (course, canopy, score, swoop distance, gates, landing, and when you flew).
- Technical data: our host, Netlify, briefly processes your IP address to deliver the site and to block abuse (for example, too many sign-in attempts).
How we use it
- Your email is used to send your sign-in code and game key and, if your scores need checking (for example, before World Cup results are announced), to contact you. We don't send marketing email.
- Your username, continent and scores are shown publicly on the leaderboard and high scores pages. Your email is never shown.
- Scores are checked to keep the comp fair.
Who else handles it
- Netlify hosts the game and stores comp data.
- Resend sends the sign-in code and game key emails.
- Apple, Google and Stripe process payments under their own privacy policies.
These services may store and process information in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, they use approved safeguards for international transfers.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and scores while the comp runs so the leaderboard and high scores stay accurate. Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
Children
Comp accounts are only for people 13 and older, or older where local law sets a higher age for agreeing on your own. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has signed up without the consent the law requires, email us and we'll delete the account.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, in the EU, the UK, Brazil or California), you may have the right to see, correct, delete or download your information, and to object to how we use it. To do any of this, email [contact email] from the address on your account. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. Signing out in the game removes your sign-in from that device.
