SWOOP
Official Rules
Pond Swoop Weekly Comp and World Cup. These are games of skill: chance plays no part in picking a winner.
Translations are provided for convenience. If they differ, the English version of these rules applies.
1. Sponsor
The Pond Swoop Weekly Comp and World Cup (together, the "Comp") are run by [Sponsor legal name], [mailing address] ("Sponsor"). Questions: [contact email].
Apple Inc. and Google LLC are not sponsors of the Comp and are not involved with it in any way.
2. Who can enter
Open worldwide to people who are at least 13 years old when they create their account, and old enough where they live to agree to these rules and the privacy policy on their own (for example, 16 in some countries). Younger players need a parent or legal guardian's permission where local law requires it. Employees of Sponsor and their immediate family and household members can play but cannot earn World Cup medals. Void where prohibited.
3. Comp accounts
- A comp account comes with the Pond Swoop full game. You get it with the one-time in-app purchase on the App Store or Google Play, or with a Pond Swoop game key bought from Sponsor.
- One comp account per purchase or game key. A purchase restored on a new device stays linked to the same account. A game key works once.
- Create your account with your email address, a username and your continent, and confirm the 6-digit code we email you. One account per person.
- Pick the continent you live on. It decides which weekly leaderboard you're on. You can't change it yourself; Sponsor may move an account to the right continent or disqualify it if it was picked to gain an advantage.
- If a purchase is refunded, charged back or bought fraudulently, Sponsor may close the account and remove its results.
- Usernames must not be offensive or impersonate anyone. Sponsor may change or remove any username.
4. Weekly Comp
Each Comp week starts Monday at 12:00:00 AM US Central Time and ends Sunday at 11:59:59 PM US Central Time. You get 3 tries on each course each week, with any canopy. A try counts as soon as you jump, even if you quit or lose your connection. A try that starts before the week ends counts if it's finished within 15 minutes after the end. Sponsor's server clock is the official time.
Your score on a try is calculated by the game from your swoop distance, gates hit, clearing the pond, and your landing. Your weekly total is your single best try on each course, added together. Courses you don't fly count as zero. On the Distance Field, you fly the Dart 95 or the Blade 75, and your score is only the distance in feet you swoop after clearing the entry gate below its height.
There is a separate weekly leaderboard for each continent: Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America and Oceania. If two pilots have the same weekly total, the one who reached it first ranks higher.
5. Seasons and qualifying
Seasons are 10 weeks long and run back to back, starting with Season 1 on [Monday, January 4, 2027]. Weeks 1–9 of each season are qualifying weeks.
When each qualifying week closes, the top 10 on every continent's leaderboard qualify for that season's World Cup. A pilot only needs to qualify once per season. Weekly Comp weeks before Season 1, and the Weekly Comp during week 10, are for fun and don't qualify anyone.
6. World Cup
Week 10 of every season is the World Cup. It runs Monday at 12:00:00 AM US Central Time through Sunday at 11:59:59 PM US Central Time, in the Pond Swoop app.
Who flies. Every pilot who qualified during that season's weeks 1–9 is invited automatically. The invite list is set when week 9 closes. If a qualified pilot is disqualified, any tries they already flew in the World Cup don't count.
Format. All invited pilots, from every continent, fly together on one leaderboard. Each gets 3 tries on each course, with any canopy, and everyone gets the same wind and starting conditions on a course. Your World Cup total is your best try on each course, added together, scored as in section 4. The highest total wins. If two or more pilots tie, the one who reached that total first ranks higher.
7. Fair play and verification
All scores are checked by Sponsor's server. Scores that are impossible in the game, or that appear to come from cheating, modified software or devices, automation, emulators, bugs, or multiple accounts, will be thrown out, and Sponsor may disqualify the entrant.
Before World Cup results are announced, Sponsor reviews every try by the top finishers. Sponsor may ask a potential medal winner to fly a short verification run on a live video call, or to show the device they played on. A potential winner who won't do this, or who can't come close to their World Cup scores, may be disqualified. If a potential winner is disqualified, everyone below them moves up a place. Sponsor's decisions are final.
8. Medals
The top three finishers at each World Cup earn digital medals in the game: gold for 1st, silver for 2nd and bronze for 3rd. Medals appear in the winner's medal case, in the in-game awards ceremony, on the leaderboard and in the Hall of Champions.
Medals are digital only and have no cash or retail value. Nothing is mailed, and medals can't be traded, sold, transferred or exchanged for money, merchandise or anything else. No other prize is awarded for the Weekly Comp or the World Cup.
9. Results
World Cup results are announced in the game and on the leaderboard once Sponsor has verified the top finishers under section 7, usually within 7 days after World Cup week ends. Sponsor may email a top finisher at the address on their account to arrange verification. If a medal winner is later found to have broken these rules, Sponsor may take the medal back and move everyone below them up a place.
10. Publicity
Usernames, continents and scores are shown publicly on the leaderboard and in the game. Medal winners agree that Sponsor may show their username, continent, scores and placing. Email addresses and real names are never shown publicly.
11. General conditions
Sponsor is not responsible for lost connections, server or device problems, incorrect or late scores, or any error that affects the Comp. If the Comp can't run as planned for any reason, Sponsor may change, suspend, reschedule or end it, and may award medals based on eligible scores received before the problem. Buying the full game pays for the game. It does not buy a better chance of winning. By entering, entrants agree to these rules and release Sponsor, Apple Inc., and Google LLC from any claims connected with the Comp or a medal, to the extent the law allows.
12. Privacy
Information you give us is used as described in the Pond Swoop privacy policy.
13. Governing law
These rules are governed by the laws of the State of [state], USA, except where the law of your country says otherwise. Winners list: see the Hall of Champions.
